Operation Skinny Jeans Update

So, I know it’s been awhile since an Operation Skinny Jeans update, and there’s a reason for that…

I totally sucked at it from about mid-August til last week…

It’s true. I did. Instead of my 4 or 5 trips to the gym lasting 1-2 hours, I was going once maybe twice a week, and I didn’t think twice about leaving after just one class. It was awful. I’m telling you, if I could find an excuse to not go to the gym…I used it. I couldn’t find motivation to save my life. The scale was going up, my knee was killing me, even my ELBOW was injured. At one point during that month and a half I {foolishly} weighed myself and I was up like 4lbs, and there went my “I’m almost at 20lbs” goal….Bleh.

So, last Monday I said to heck with it…I had to get back on track if it killed me. I didn’t actually think I was going to die, but I knew for sure that it was going to hurt like crap! But, sometimes? You just gotta pull up your big girl pants and get to work…you know? So that’s what I did, I pulled up my big girl pants and got to work. And? It’s working!

Last week I made it to the gym 4 days…whoop whoop….and killed it during the workouts. This morning I got on the scale {only after Brad suggested it, I was going to wait another week} and I was at 18lbs down, which is 1lb lighter than the next to last time that I weighed myself, 5lbs lighter than the last time that I weighed myself, and….only 2lbs away from 20!!!!!

To be honest? I feel like I should’ve been there already, and the reality is that I should’ve. I have no idea why I essentially took a month and a half off at this point in the journey…other than, I just lost my drive. I have a hard time with drive to begin with….so this journey is testing everything about me.

If you’re wondering what workouts I’m doing, here’s my typical week’s schedule:

Monday: 9:30 – BodyJam, and if I’m feeling spiffy 10:30 – Yoga
Tuesday: 9:30 – BodyAttack {I personally hate this class because it’s so hard, so if I have any type of excuse I’ll skip it.
Wednesday: 8:30 – BodyPump {weightlifting}, and again, if I’m feeling up to it, 9:30 – Yoga
Thursday: 9:30 – Zumba
Friday: 10:30 – BodyCombat {mixed martial arts, otherwise known as beating the crap out of the air in front of you, also known as MY FAVORITE CLASS EVER!!!!!! I’m also not opposed to making the Circuit Training class at 8:30 on Friday if I can’t make it to BodyCombat. I’ve only done that once, but OMG, it’s killer.

Anyways, I feel like I’m back, and it’s a good feeling to have….

  2. Love the fact that you’re not placing any blame or making any excuses 😉 and it looks like you’re doing great even with your break. ps- Body pump was my ultimate favorite class.
